Margaret Burke Pauley
According to my grandmother, Anna Mae Burke, Margaret Burke Pauley was her Aunt and lived in California in the first half of the 20th century. There are a number of her paintings in our extended family, and we are fortunate to have one of her paintings and a tapestry.
The tapestry shown below is of Mission San Juan Capistrano. A painting with nearly the same viewpoint and people, by Maurice Logan, was published on the cover of Sunset Magazine in October 1934.
